Description

HOMETEC (Development of a Home Environment Control Assistant) is a social and technological innovation project aimed at improving the personal autonomy and quality of life of dependent individuals, people with disabilities, or those in vulnerable situations. Through a process of technological co-creation and user-centered design, it develops home automation solutions and smart assistants that facilitate independent living at home and promote remaining in one's familiar environment.

Goals

  • Promote personal autonomy and independent living for dependent individuals and people with disabilities.
  • Improve quality of life through assistive technologies in the home.
  • Prevent risky situations such as falls or medical emergencies.
  • Facilitate interaction between individuals and their home environment.
  • Support the work of professionals responsible for care and support.

Activities

  1. Design, development, and validation of an intelligent assistant for controlling the home environment using open innovation and co-creation methodologies.
  2. Active user participation in the design and evaluation processes of the technological solutions.
  3. Implementation of control systems for lights, doors, windows, and appliances adapted to the participants' needs.
  4. Development of detection and response tools for risk situations and emergencies in the home.
  5. Piloting of the solution in 200 homes in Castile and León, including advanced home automation systems in a representative sample of 75 homes.
